Dua Lipa is an English musician and singer who was born in London United Kingdom on August 22nd, 1995. She decided to sign with Warner Bros Records in 2014 after working as a model. She dropped her debut album, self-titled in 2017. The album peaked at the top spot at No. three on the U.K. Charts. There were eight singles that were released, including Be the One I.D.G.A.F., and New Rules. In the United States it peaked as the 6th most popular album. Lipa was awarded the Brit Award in 2018 as British Female Soloist and British Breakthrough Artist. Her album is certified platinum across a variety of countries. She is the daughter of Kosovo Albanian parents Anesa Rexha and Dukagjin Lipa. By way of her maternal grandparent Dua Lipa, she is Bosnian. It is also possible to trace her ancestral roots to Peja in Kosovo. Lipa's grandfathers are both historians. She is the sister of Rina Lipa, and has a younger brother named Gjin. Lipa was influenced musically by her father who is also the lead guitar player and the singer of Oda. Kosovan the group Oda.
