Holly Hunter, an American actress and film producer from America, is recognized for her outstanding performances in films such as Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles. The film Piano has won several awards for her, among them an Oscar. The well-known actress began her acting career on stage with an array of Broadway and Off-Broadway projects. Passionate about acting since her primary school years, she was Helen Keller in a play during the 5th grade. Following a bout of Mumps, she went deaf in one ear. However, this was not enough to stop her desire to work as an actress. At the age of 16, she studied drama in college before moving to New York City from Pittsburgh in order to achieve her goals. Hunter first appeared on Broadway when she had a chance meeting with Beth Henley, a playwright. They collaborated on Broadway Crimes of the Heart. When she moved into Los Angeles, Hunter tried to land film roles. A supporting role was securing for her in Swing Shift. For the last 30 years, she has appeared on various TV series and movies. Holly Hunter has a Hollywood Walk of Fame actress and was awarded the Women in Film Lucy Award.
